CampusLush Launches Grant To Empower HBCUS With Technology

CampusLush launches the Social Impact Technology Grant, providing HBCUs with up to $10,000 in funding to enhance student engagement, retention, and campus operations through technology.

CHARLOTTE – CampusLush, the student engagement platform connecting students, universities, and employers throughout the college experience, announces the launch of the Social Impact Technology Grant. This initiative provides Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) with up to $10,000 to enhance student engagement and retention through technology. The grant will be exclusively applied toward CampusLush platform access, removing financial barriers for underserved higher education institutions and ensuring they can fully utilize CampusLush’s tools.

A Commitment to HBCUs

CampusLush CEO Mac Exumé emphasized the importance of equitable access:

“Technology should never be a barrier to student success. This grant equips HBCUs with the tools they need to streamline operations, enhance engagement, and improve retention rates—delivering meaningful results for both institutions and students.”

Exumé continued: “With over 100 HBCUs across the country, each institution—whether widely recognized or not—plays a critical role in shaping future leaders. HBCUs make up just 3% of U.S. colleges and universities but produce nearly 20% of all Black graduates, reinforcing their importance in advancing educational equity and economic mobility. Society owes it to HBCUs to provide the support they deserve, and at CampusLush, we are committed to doing our part. Supporting these institutions means investing in the future of diverse talent and innovation.”

How the Social Impact Technology Grant Supports HBCUs

The Social Impact Technology Grant directly addresses key technology challenges faced by HBCUs:

  • Simplify Workflows: Automate event approvals and campus communications, saving time and effort.
  • Support Retention: Utilize real-time data insights to identify and address student support gaps.
  • Boost Engagement: Provide centralized access to campus resources and events, ensuring students stay connected and involved.

Participating schools will receive full access to CampusLush’s event management tool, analytics dashboard, fast onboarding, and personalized support from a dedicated customer success manager. Schools will also benefit from strategic guidance and renewal discounts. By helping cover the cost of these services, the grant makes CampusLush’s powerful engagement tools accessible to more HBCUs.

How to Apply

The Social Impact Technology Grant is open to all HBCUs, with applications accepted on a rolling basis until all grants are awarded. Schools can apply through the CampusLush website, and selected institutions will be notified within 30 days of submission. Apply today to transform student engagement at your campus.
